The world has changed drastically over the last 40 years. There are more and more cases of embezzlement, fraud, and theft on the job. These things have caused employers to become more cautious. They do this by requiring background checks to see if a potential employee is a “risk” to the company. See also criminal background checks.
I wanted to learn more about my cousin who lived in Illinois. He kind of had a shady past, even though he went to Harvard and some of the best schools growing up. I decided to do an Illinois criminal background check on him. I also wanted to get an Illinois criminal search, as well as an Illinois criminal history check on my cousin. I was astounded to find out what I did.
Did you ever hear from someone that if someone Googles any name that way or makes use of Yahoo for getting some background checks, or if it’s done on full moon when you’re standing on the head, there are ‘good chances’ that you’ll get a few ‘great’ results. Yeah, we’ve exaggerated a little bit but we’re still making a point, right?
A much better option would be to find a reliable online database like the Federal Bureau of Prison’s website and the National Sex Offender Registry that can let know if this person has ever been convicted for sexual crimes. Unfortunately, the free resources are rather limited.
