Are roofers search engine savvy?

Competing for business in the roofing trade for your catchment area is very stressful especially if you are self employed. You probably are listed in the local ads in the newspapers and yellow pages along with all your competitors.
If you are a specialist in the building trade, like a roof tiler or you are expert in building kitchen extensions thats a fair advantage but you still have competitors who maybe part of a large corporation.
Most builders have websites and with a little hard work optimizing their text content based on the search phrases that represent the services they provide, that hard work could pay off and bring them to the forefront in internet exposure. Offline advertising costs money, with ads in local newspapers and yellow pages and your competition are there too.
For example a roofing business based in a UK city like Coventry, will expect surfers to search on the terms ‘Roofers+Coventry’, thats quite obvious, but do tradesmen understand this simple concept when it comes to promoting their business on the web. Im sure most do and they are the ones who wil have the advantage over their competition.
Roofers depend a lot on weather conditions and and when the wind and rain comes, like it does in England, tiles fall, and roofs spring links and the poor property owners scurry for the yellow pages, but the more internet savvy go looking on the web looking for a good local roofing specialist.
So it makes good sense in this day and age for a building tradesman, self employed or otherwise to have a website and to keep it optimized for the right search phrases that reflect the services they provide. Pages of content itemising their services and a fair few links in paid or non-paid directories as well will go far to list their website high in the google rankings.
Clever roofers dont just sit there waiting for the weather to change. They have a solid web presence to help them through the lean spells. Search roofers+Coventry and see them hard at work.
